A lot of things excite me. Towards the top of the list is a freshly painted space waiting to be filled with furniture and finishing touches. So, you can only imagine how I felt stepping into my beautiful little shop with its OSB floor (new obsession), tongue and groove ceiling and white walls with pretty silk ivy creeping along the top.
The antique furniture that I had been gathering for a couple of months had been cleaned and placed ready to display the stock from Crafty Soul, Sallyanne Designs, May I Design, SilliArt Signwriting, The Handcrafted Party, Colin Perry Ceramics and Nanny Kat Knits.
Reclaimed scaffold boards provide effective and sturdy shelving and the 1930’s bookcase I picked up for £5 was painted and branded by Elaine at The Handcrafted Party with my logo and social media details.
Today was the soft launch of the shop. I will have a ‘hard’ launch once the workshop is complete and I have had a chance to learn how to use my card reader etc and have lived with the layout for a while.
Despite the rain and the wind, I still had a load of lovely faces (some familiar and some not) come by and visit. Some even brought flowers (cheers Linda!) I sold jewellery, cards and the little Coachella inspired cake topper which I secretly had had my eye on. I made friends, both in reality and on the socials, and I went home with a big smile on my face and a little voice in my head telling me that this will all work out ok. Even if I have to figure it all out as I go.
